Congratulations to UNIGIS MSc student Roland Graf for winning the 2nd place in the Master Thesis Competition of the Austrian Umbrella Organisation for Geographic Information (AGEO)!Roland Graf combined in his excellent thesis the support vector machines (SVM) image classification method with the segmentation approach of object based images analysis (OBIA). This conceptual approach was successfully implemented and tested with help of the eCognition software.
The awarding ceremony of the AGEO prize will take place at the AGIT / GI_Forum conference, 4. July 2012 at the University of Salzburg, where Mr. Graf will also present the outcomes of his research.
